Set along the main drag in Lighthaven was a medium sized neon sign, proclaiming in illuminated red cursive letters "Leather and Lace". The double glass doors were flanked by two large glass display windows, manequins carefully arranged inside, showing off the stores more expensive, and revealing, styles. Some were frilly, some were harsh, and all of them barely covered the plastic dolls molded bodies.
Those who walked by could see into the store from the street. The women who worked there were all clad in the store's merchandise and sky high stilleto heels, flat bellies and ample cleavage unmodestly on display. Anybody could walk in and make a purchase, the staff was polite and helpful...but it was those of the immortal variety that they took care of the best.
Towards the back of the store a crimson velvety curtain hung from ceiling to floor, obscuring a door that was accessible through the middle of the curtain, and behind that curtain was where the real fun took place. The space opened into a thin hallway, a set of double doors directly in front of the entrance opened into the main area. To either side of this main double door was half a dozen other smaller interior room style doors, allowing those who wished to take their meals - or for their mortal customers, their fun - further could do so in private. Some of these rooms were also where many of the employees of Leather and Lace lived.
The costumes and beating hearts stayed in tact in the common room, it was a well respected rule. What happened behind closed doors...well, that would be why there was a door there. Specialty girls are procured for those willing to pay for them. Some of them stick around, some of them leave immediately, and some of them are never heard from again.
The main area was luxuriously furnished, plush couches, chairs and loveseats were littered with girls come nightfall, scantily clad as well in the store's lingerie. Many of them were alone, recovering from their latest client, some were in the middle of working, their bodies wrapped in the arms of the immotal patrons, the veins of their throats and/or wrists sliced open and dripping with thick, red vitae. This was an area the mortal customers never saw. These mortal customers include Lighthaven's police chief.
The mortal police chief turned a blind eye to what he thought was merely the whore house behind the lingerie store in exchange for some hush money and one free session a month with his favorite girl, Dahlia. He, just like other mortal customers, is ushered from the store into a private room and back out, without ever being allowed behind the double doors. He knows something more is going on, but just figures it's drugs or weapons. He is so enamored with Dahlia that he's not willing to endanger his time with her.
For this reason Victoria - who ultimately owns the lingerie shop and the business behind it - begrudgingly allows Dahlia a bit of leeway with her attitude and mouthiness. This isn't to say that she gets away with whatever she wants, indeed there are consequences for her insolence too, but any other girl would have been dead a long time ago had they spoken to Victoria the way Dahlia does.
((On an OOC note, I'm still looking for someone to play the police chief, the madame and the other girls (there either willingly or not, players choice). Until someone expresses interest they will remain NPCs. If you're interested in the police chief or madame just drop me a note at emma.bobemma@yahoo.com.
