-Maria changed her clothes for the fourth time in a row; looking at her diminutive frame in the long mirror before her. A far cry from the gilded ones in her bedroom in Bellavista; Italy. Her family had more money than they knew what to do with and like many people who had risen from humble begining surrounded themselves with beauty. Twisting to the left and then to the right in the wrap around black dress she sighed; tugged it off and grabbed a pair of dark blue second skin blue jeans; her calf high leather boots and a low cut black long sleeved stretchy shirt. It would have to do; a necklace composed of leather thong and several metal little posts hanging from a ring hung about her throat though its significance was nothing to anyone but those who knew her well. Of which there were absolutely none in Lighthaven. Which was the idea. She was staying at some dive motel to keep a low profile and hadn't left her room in a couple days just to ensure she wasn't followed. After that she'd started taking long walks; sitting in diners and restaurants just to listen to town gossip. She walked a fine line between the normal world and the subculture which roused its head once the sun settled behind the horizon. Maria had found a club which had held her interest but with money running low she knew she had to get a job somewhere. Singing would get her too much notice she was a celebrated opera singer in Italy and some of her CDs were selling here in the state. She would have to work as a waitress or bar maid; God knows she'd poured many a drink since she was young. Getting drinks for her father or uncles when they came around to talk. Heading out into the night; crossing streets and staying out of alley ways she would head to The Pulse and head directly to the bar after she was carded. Sweeping her petite frame onto a stool she smiled at the bar tender. Her eyes and her innocent smile often drew negative attention; but the worst part of it was just her BEING here was like ringing a dinner bell. There was something about her; something inborn which drew attention. It was a sweet scent; succulent as it dances along the nose; through the lips; not cloying but ever present. The bar tender asks her if she'd like a drink but she just has a coke; when she speaks her heavy italian accent is easily noticed. Hello; is there any chance I can speak with manager? I am needing a waitress job if possible; gratzi.-She would likely be given an application to which she filled out but would stick around just in case a manager was there to speak with. She had a cellphone which she could be reached at any time of day and her availabilty was wide open to work-

*I was at the bar as normal on nights like this. I usually took this opportunity to blend in with the scenery; practically become part of the bar top as I let elbows press against the mahogany surface. Left hand was left to dangle down at bent wrist, the right hand kept a chilled bottle of German lager between fingers loosely curled. Well, I should say the bottle was slowly warming up due to flesh imparting bodily heat. Golden blonde strands were left free of any restraints this evening, framing roguishly charismatic features that remained oddly clean shaven amongst it all. What I wore was simple; black tee shirt with random metal band advertised upon it(this evening it just happened to be Megadeth) along with jeans that only left so much to the imagination. Oh hell they didn't cling to me, just brought out my ass somewhat. Hey, a man can be vain about certain parts of his body eh? Apparently I had a nice one.
Sky blues peered down past a few people who were already occupied at the bar, hearing words in particular being laced in an intriguing accept asking for a job. Interesting, interesting indeed. I didn't do anything just yet.
The bartender gave the woman a nod, moving to the other end to do just that until his eyes temporarily fell upon me. Without indication of a nod or anything of the sort, my gaze cuts over towards the office, telling him "Yes, get the damn manager. I hired him for a reason." In the meantime, my tongue wished to taste some of the brew again. Which...guess what? The bottle came up to my lips again and imparted some of the golden liquid within.
The bartender had come back with the manager that seemed quite enthusiastic. Very friendly and somewhat charming, but no one that was worthy of note too much out of club operations. He appraised the woman in question and gave her a smile, handing her the application she had asked for.*
"Good evening. I hear you are interested in a waitress position?" *He says. He didn't want to show that we were actually desperate to have more waitresses, especially pretty ones to appease the patrons. Since they had quite the selection for customers. While he was talking to her, I remained looking on every now and then from where I sat. He hands her the application.* "It won't take me long to review your application, but I am sure there won't be any problems. How soon are you looking to start?" *I caught his words, causing me to look back towards them and perk a brow. Seems he took a liking to her as well.*
*I couldn't help but feel like she deserved to be some place...better. Not that The Pulse was some place unworthy of working, but it seemed that her wanting to be a waitress was undeserving of her talents. How the hell could I tell that just by looking at her. Heh. Call it a hunch.
The manager would eventually excuse himself, mentioning to her that when she was done with the application process to just hand it to the bartender. He had other matters to attend to.*

-Maria extended her hand and introduced herself when the manager came out and her eyes lowered backfully; the thick lashes kissing her high cheekbones highlighting her smile- Si; Signore; and as soon as possible; as much as you want me I am working full time or part; but prefer Full; lots hours is good. I do not use the english words so well; but I understand so much better. I am working in bar before in Italy. I come in early to help clean; and stay late to clean if you like. Even bathrooms.-Maria was a hard worker; though she was not accustomed to it as of late. Singing in opera was not exactly sweeping up and avoiding the overbearing attentions of some men but it beat starving. She had a good work ethic and that is what mattered most. She had pleading eyes; the silver coolness had a high appeal; not to mention her sexy accent- I think people will like me here; I enjoy the music. I like to be nice to people; but not...TOO nice-Meaning she wouldn't be starting bar fights with men or women vying for attentions. Nervously her hands flitted about her person as she spoke. Tie down an Italian's hands and they couldn't get more than one or two words out before becoming exasperated. She tried to shove them in her back pocket; but was soon trailing her fingertip around the rim of her glass then down the side to trail through the condensation.- Please; I need job; I have just come here and live in motel. I am no having too much money to live past a few months with no job-Which meant she had at least planned enough in advance to not just wander into town and beg for a place to live as well food. She doesnt strike someone as reckless; just a bit helpless.-

*The manager talked to her a bit longer before heading to the back. To him she showed nice enthusiasm and had a lovely accent to boot. It prompted him to smile boldly in her direction. Her accent had quite the draw, almost as if she was curling an unseen finger into his direction to beckon closer. She seemed really desperate for a job, as much as they were at having more waitresses. He still wanted to keep things professional though, and have her fill out an application before things could go further. Meh, professional bullshit. I'll never get it. Was never as easy as just saying "Hey! You're hired!" Nope. Had to look over all the damned forms, have them fill out MORE forms, have them understand safety regulations and shit. I ~suppose~ it was the legal thing to do.
I heard her story as she explained it to the manager. Had the makings of a hard worker, accent hot, can get along with people but not too much, still hot accent, lived in a motel, and all the while ho-...wait..motel? That's a sucky way to live. I toss my head from side to side for a moment to free my thoughts of her accent. There was nothing like a beautiful woman with an accent though. I suppose that's why I was still drawn to Rose.
After the woman had filled out the application and gave it to the bartender, I quickly downed the rest of my Bock and pushed myself off of the stool, making my merry way towards the back that made it seem like I was just heading to the can. I disappeared when I turned the corner, just for the bartender to disappear a bit after me. He was surprised to see me waiting there to pluck the application from his hand, ushering him to get his ass back to work.
Bold eyes scan down the application as the steady clicking of boots filled the air; making my way towards his office. I only briskly scanned through all the specifics, nothing immediate catching my attention that should have been seen as a 'flag' of any sorts. Well then, that will make this part easier.
Knock knock knock. Wait..I was the owner of this place, why the hell was I knocking on his door? I shook my head and pushed the door open, lightly tossing the application down in front of him at his desk as I spoke up.*
"She's a keeper; hire her." *I'd say to him, nodding.*
*He perks his brow at me.* "You think so Mr. Schweiger? Well allow me to look.."
"I looked it over for you chubs, hire her." *Haha chubs. He was a bit chubby. I never called him that before though. Perhaps because he was seemingly ignoring what I said.*
"E..excuse me? You hired me to do a job, let me do.."
"Did I stutter Mr. Raymond? I think not. She caught my eye, and I like what I've seen and heard." *Those once crystalline clear blues steel over to show they could be as cold as ice as they could be warm swirling pools.*
"You're basing this off of first impressions? I must ask that you reconsider.."
"Look...Mr. Raymond.." *I moved over towards the edge of his desk, letting my hands plant on the edge of it as I leaned, crossing my legs as I did so.* "You're perfectly aware of the establishment I run here, right? Intuition tells me she would make an excellent worker, but she has an appeal factor that I can't put my finger on. You know FULL well the type of patrons that come through here. Not only would she interest our usuals, but she would greatly attract our unusuals as well. Do you get my drift yet?" *I perk my brow up at him. He just looks at me, wanting to sigh out but I stop him from doing so.* "If they're happy, then I am happy. If I am happy, that means more money is coming in from somewhere which means men like you can get a raise. Just...do what I say, okay?"
*After that was said, I left his office and went down the hall just to emerge back into the main area of the club. A broad hand arose up to push some of those bothersome strands behind my ear in the middle of those heavy strides, easing myself upon the barstool I was sitting at earlier again, that empty Bock sitting there still. Digits wrapped around the neck and I raise it up.*
"Refill of the Bock, tender."
*My eyes drew around to the patrons again after the request. Seeing that some of them had left the bar to make it easier to see the woman who was sitting there still, waiting to see if she would get the job with any luck. Raymond had this way of taking forever to get a hold of someone, I just made sure the process didn't take that long this time.
When my gaze drew down to the familiar hallway, I saw him walk from the back to see that Maria was still at the bar. He approaches her and gives a big smile while holding out his hand.*
"Welcome aboard Miss de Luca. You're more than qualified to start working right away. Tomorrow preferably! Tonight we can go over paperwork and what your pay rate will be."
*Good man. I wouldn't have to fire you later. I took the new Bock into my possession and eased myself from the stool, this time, going over to watch those that danced on the dance floor. Letting the man handle the situation from there.*

-Time has a way of ticking by slowly when you are expecting news. Good or bad; Maria just wanted to know. She'd apply to that greasy little diner tomorrow if she had to; heck she'd clean rooms at the crappy motel she was staying in if that worked. Just anything to make ends meet so she could figure out what to do next. Not that Lighthaven didnt appeal to her in many ways; if she managed to save up to get an apartment maybe she'd stick around for more than just a few months. She was oblivious to the attentions of Alex; or the people who started to move in closer to the bar just to hear her speak. The melodic timber of her accent; the way she smiled and laughed with others simply drew one to smile. It was like she was your best friends kid sister; you flirted with her but by the same token if anyone else did you wanted to bash their face in until their teeth came out the other side. When Mr Raymond came out and offered her the job she almost jumped out of her seat and hugged him. She managed to keep her cool however; tucking her hair back behind one of her ears as she beamed at the chubby manager. Who had the good nature to blush and smile at her. She was happy to go over rules; codes; procedures; pay and anything else he desired to go over with her this very moment. They had a long lengthy discussion and the Manager would be happy to know she did have a good bar history and even could help out with counting up totals at the end of the night to make the bartenders job easier and swifter. She asked about attire as well; if this was the sort of place where waitresses should dresses or if there was an actual uniform; she'd get whatever was necessary to be a good fit for The Pulse. As she spoke with Mr Raymond; her fingers continued to keep busy. Tracing her glass; tucking her mahogany hair back behind her ear or now and again tracing that odd necklace of hers. Those who were supernaturals felt that necklace had strange weight to it. A way of putting them off of it for some reason. Though it was not as strong when she wasn't touching it. The meeting would go off without a hitch; she shook his hand again and remained very professional with him before he excused himself. Tomorrow she started working here and she felt absolutely giddy! It was time to celebrate! She turned and looked at the bar tender who asked if she wanted some frilly girly drink- No; just give me a domestic beer; gratzi.-She pulled out a few well worn bills; counting them out to make sure she had enough for a tip though she really had to be careful with her money. A dazzling smile was given to the bartender as she turned on her stool; now content to swig her beer and watch the people dancing on the floor. She leaned back on an elbow and crossed her ankles; though her booted foot bobbed to the rhythm. The impulse to dance flooded her and she took a long swig of the beer before she slid off the stool and headed to the dance floor. Maria was confident enough that she didnt need a partner to dance. Lost amidst the crush of the people dancing she closed her eyes and started to bob her head; her hips swaying to the music before she became lost to it like every one else. Even with her high heeled boots she was pretty short in the crowd; however people took notice of her. Men and women alike moving closer; a random guy moving up to dance behind her. She smiled dancing with him for a moment before she moved out of his grasp; moving to do a shimmy with a lovely blonde and then moving on to dance on her own again. She drew more people to the floor; and in so doing people were thirsty from the exertion and spent more money at the bar. There was no question; Maria was going to be very good for business.
