The DelMonde Estate was on the north promontory of the harbor. It was fairly new in construction and was rather massive. It was accessed off of the shore road with a long driveway and a circular drive at the house itself.
The main house was "L" shaped and had few windows. When the Prince visited the city or had other business to conduct,he would use Kristoffs house. Visiting"dignitaries" would most often stay there. It was well protected, and after all,Kristoff was the clans Sheriff.
His personal sanctuary had been carved out of the rocky cliff and was well secured underground.
Only a few mortals ever got invited to the house.

~She allowed him to draw her into the house and looked around only to flinch when he spoke in a loud voice. Her head sharply turning to look over at him. Exactly how many men lived here? She perked a brow at him then resumed that soft smile with a nod of her head showing she understood.~ "I hope I do not disturb them." ~Again her sharp green eyes moved around to look around but she saw no other males for the time being. Her scent flared strongly for a moment before dieing down to a pleasant one. She still stayed close to him, her hand in the crook of his arm as she stood there.~ Kristoff "No I'm sure you won't disturb them to any great extent, They are used to my coming and goings at night. But come, sit by the fire. Could I perhaps get you a Brandy or some other libation?" He would lead her through an entry hall into a rather large living room. AS promised the fire was going nicely. There was a large couch in front of the fireplace, which was flanked by two large, apparently, comfortable chairs. One of these chairs was currently occupied by a rather slim young man, apparently in his late teens or early twenties. Luckily he was acceptably clothed, which didn't do anything to conceal his well built body. Kristoff would merely give him a look and he would stand and make is way out of the room, after giving Sarifa a slight bow. Kristoff expected his entourage to behave appropriately at all times.

~The woman who had come in with Kristoff looked the young chap over before turning her eyes back to Kristoff himself. A small nod of her head and a soft smile would come before she answered.~ "Yes, please." ~She moved to the large couch and would sit, removing her long heavy coat as she did.~ "Scotch." ~Her upper body leaned towards the fire allowing it to warm her hands. She hated the cold, hated more how it zapped her of energy to do anything.~

He watched as Sarifa moved to the fire and leaned into it. She obviously craved the warmth. With the long coat off,he could see her fine figure, that had only been hinted at before. He would pour himself a small brandy and at her utterance, his hand would move to the bottle of scotch. "Neat? on the rocks?water or soda?" Even had she wanted it with a twist, his bar was ready.

~Her head turned, long jet black hair fell down her back~ "Straight...from the bottle." ~Ah! A joke. She smiled and gave a small laugh.~ ~Still her hand moved for the heat but not for long as she sat back into the couch and crossed her legs. She stared into the dancing flames reminding her of long lonely nights out in the desert~ "So what is it you do, Kristoff?" ~Her eyes shifted over to look at him.~ "That allows you such extravagant living?"

Kristoff He would smile at her little joke. For one of her refinement drinking from the bottle would be almost unheard of. He would pour her a generous tumbler full. He moved around the couch to seat himself near her. "My family has been quite lucky with investing in almost every new technology since the invention of steam. Having gotten in on the ground floor of so many new things, the investments had repaid us quite well." He enjoyed this verbal sparring, but she surely knew what he was even as he had a pretty good idea of her. Still the time would come when they both would have to 'put their cards on the table' so to speak.

~She took the drink he offered her and watched as he sat on the couch near her. Her head nodded as she listened to him taking a long drink from the glass. Licking at her lips she watched the flames for a moment.~ "How lucky of you and your family. To be able to just 'know' when an investment is good might be concidered more then luck, I might think. But of course who has the time to research thigns." ~Her sharp green eyes turned to him with a small pert smile on her lips before she took another long drink and shifted her eyes back to the fire. The warm was being taken in by her but he would not see such a thing through human nor vampiric eyes. Magicly? Perhaps but it was a spacific type of magic.~

He watched her over the edge of his glass as she spoke. "Most times all it took was an open mind and a bit of imagination to see what was possible;of course research did help a bit." He couldn't detect it in any way but he had a feeling that Sarifa was drinking in the warmth of the fire. There were those alive that did that. The time was coming when they would both admit to what they were and then things could progress. "So my dear, what,if I may be so bold, stirs your soul?"

~The pert smile stayed, a very languishing look on her features. She was a lounger at heart. Her eyes closed as she drank in more of the heat from the fire and took another long drink of her scotch. The ice played over lips and tongue but didn't push her to crunch at the ice its self. Bringing the glass down she listened to Kristoff. Even if she didn't seem to be interested she was far from that. She knew that had she been able to invest in some things in the past she would have. Of course her wealth wasn't mostly taken in by inventions. Some were very lucky with this. She bit at her lower lip for a moment before shifting sharp green eyes his way.~ "What an odd question to ask, Mr. Kristoff." ~She smiled a bit more before adjusting in her seat for a moment.~ "Hm, what stirs my soul?" ~She asked herself the question mulling it over and taking it serious. None had asked her such a question before.~ "I suppose the helpless. I feel such a need to help, guide....love." ~The smile faded as she stared into the fire and a hurtful look drew her brows in for a moment before she let it fall and turned her attention back to Kristoff.~ "And you? What stirs you?" ~She lifted her glass only slightly towards him before bringing it to her lips in order to sip at what was left of the contents.~

He watched her as he waited for her to consider. His question had caught her by surprise. Good. When one had to think rather than offering some glib reply, they more often than not spoke the truth. The helpless, yes it would be them. He didn't miss the brief drawing in of her brows. He didn't know what it meant,at least not yet. "What stirs me? Beauty in all of it myriad forms. A well crafted statue,a nicely composed piece of music or painting. A nicely formed body be it male or female. Almost anything that has been lovingly crafted or is pleasing to the eye,or more precisely,to my eye." It was unlikely that she would ever see most of his collection,as it was stored in his sanctum deep in the cliffs and very, very few ever got to go there.

~She gave a nod of her head and a smile with his answer. Many could see beauty in many things but it was the simple things that truely stired Sarifa. The laughter of a child, singing birds, a lone flower toughing it out in that one lonely spot. Her eyes drew to her surroundings inspecting things about.~ "The past also stirs me. Sandscripts, tombs...anything left behind by those who came before us. Knowledge, really. I am a curious one." ~Licking at her lips to taste the remainder of her scotch she landed her eyes on painting in the house. Sometimes you could tell things about a person by observing their paintings.~

He watched as she smiled at his answer. As far as antiquities were concerned,he didn't know much of them before his own time. The artifacts, unless the held some intrinsic beauty, had never been a fascination for him. He caught her looking at the paintings he had on display here in the living room;certainly not the best of his collection ,though still pleasing to him. There would be a landscape or two and several of both men and women in various levels of disrobement, each painting crafted with obvious care and emotion. None would be of notoriety, indeed some where not even signed. "So my dear, does my collection pass?"

~Her left brow raised. My dear? Really? Her attention was brought back to him with a small smile and a nod of her head.~ "It is...very pleaseing. Do you have more?" ~So was she asking for a tour? If he chose to show her around that would be on him. Sarifa's interests often moved from one thing to another quickly though she did not forget what she had previously been interested in. A multi-taskers mindset she could work on several things at once which was why so many of her professors called for her keen eye on paramount discoveries or opinions on small bits of things. Her eyes landed on Kristoff's face and stayed there studying everything it held there. Of course it was only skin deep but it would do for now. She smiled.~

"There is indeed more most of which is locked away in my sanctum, which few ever see. Let us cut to the chase,as they say. Neither of us is normal as I think you know. But for clarity's sake let me say it. I am a vampire. I will also state that you should have no fear of me. When I feed it is almost always from one of my entourage, and I have only killed once and that was in the blood lust after I was first turned, and the young man was a willing participant. If you wish, I shall have one of the lads drive you home,or you may stay as long as you like." Kristoff didn't confide in many outsiders, but something about Sarifa made him think he could trust her.

~Her smile faded and she turned her head from him. Ah, it was more fun to skip around the bush rather then jump head long into it. More's the pitty. The woman often veiled her face because one could not tell who one could trust many a time. She took the last of her scotch from her glass and sat it down on the small table nearest her. She stood, smoothing her hands down her pants.~ "And who said I would be leaving so soon? You invited me in, knowing I was not human nor vampire. I did not think I had anything to fear from you, which is why I came any way." ~She turned and moved to take up her glass again and headed for the bottles that held the precious liquor she sot. The ice cubes bounced around in the glass as she walked oh so gracefully to the wet bar. She took the stopper from the scotch decanter and pored more for herself.~ "I will not be so free with my tongue in sharing what I am. There are so many of you kindred, therefor you have so little to fear." ~She didn't imply, per say, that she had things to fear. Nor did she imply that there were few of here. If he chose to take what she said apart then so be it. Her head turned, her long jet black hair falling down her entire back to land just above her rump, her sharp green eyes watching him for a moment a small smile lighting her features.~
